What is FIDO2?
FIDO2 is the overarching term for FIDO Alliance’s newest set of specifications. FIDO2 enables users to leverage common devices to easily authenticate to online services in both mobile and desktop environments without using password.

What material is the VinCSS FIDO2® Authenticator’s cover?
The device’s cover is made of monolithic aluminum, coated with anti-oxidant color.
What mechanism does VinCSS FIDO2® Authenticator use to ensure the Private key is secure?
VinCSS FIDO2® Authenticator uses PKI for authentication. The Private key is created and stored directly on the device, no one can read or export Private key even at hardware level. Hence nothing is stored on the client.
Without the PIN Code, can the device work?
Depending on the service that requires a PIN code or not. If the service you need to sign in does not require PIN authentication, the key can work immediately without setting up a PIN. However, for safe protection in the case of a key loss, you should set up a PIN for your device.
How many private keys can VinCSS FIDO2® Authenticator store? Is it possible to upgrade?
For services requiring authentication and storing account information on the device, about 50 private keys can be stored. However, if no storage is required, it can be used without limitation. The device’s firmware is upgradable.
What is the memory chip life and warranty?
Minimum memory chip life is about 10.000 key writes.
What is the warranty period?
Warranty period is 12 months, replace faulty device for a new one.
Can the device be infected with computer viruses?
This is not a storage device, therefore unable to be infected with virus like other USB flashdisk.
Which operating systems and browsers is VinCSS FIDO2® Authenticator compatible with?
According to VinCSS’s lab test, the device is compatible with Windows, macOS, iOS, iPadOS, Android, working with Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Apple Safari browsers.

Can VinCSS FIDO2® Authenticator be formatted like a normal USB?
This is not a storage device, therefore unable to format like a normal USB. But the user can reset to clear all credentials on the device and use as new again.
In addition to computer devices, is FIDO2 compatible with other USB readers. For example DVD player, projector, TV?
The device is used to authenticate to online services on supported OS/browser. Therefor, special devices like DVD player, projector, TV may not afford the required environment.
When using, do I need to install additional drivers?

Does VinCSS FIDO2® Authenticator have USB 2.0 or 3.0 port?
Compatible with both USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports
Is VinCSS FIDO2® Authenticator waterproof?
First few models are not waterproof, but we may have some waterproof models in future.
Can VinCSS FIDO2® Authenticator be backed up on a computer or other storage devices?
VinCSS FIDO2® Authenticator prevent external access to private key for security, so it’s impossible to clone or extract for backup.
How can the use of VinCSS FIDO2® Authenticator prevent attacks like using passwords?
VinCSS FIDO2® Authenticator uses PKI technology, therefor it doesn’t send any secret for authentication, users are resistant to MITM (Man In The Middle) and Phishing attacks.
When I lose VinCSS FIDO2® Authenticator, what should I do to login to the apps?
Most of applications support multiple login channels besides the VinCSS FIDO2® Authenticator login channel, so when you lose your key, you need to use one of the remaining login methods to delete the login method with a lost key and replaced with a new key.
When someone else uses my VinCSS FIDO2® Authenticator, can they log into my accounts?
The device has extra layer of protection (PIN, Fingerprint) to prevent unauthorized use, someone else won’t be able to use this key to log into your accounts.
